As an experienced educator with over 15 years of teaching English at various institutions, including universities, charter, and independent schools, Chidi is passionate about empowering students to become active agents of change in their communities. He believes that humanities instruction plays a critical role in equipping students with the tools they need to drive civic innovation, which is why he is dedicated to exploring new and innovative ways to deliver this instruction. His teaching philosophy is centered around fostering critical thinking, creativity, and empathy in his students, and he strives to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can thrive. With a proven track record of inspiring and motivating students to achieve their full potential, he is excited to continue making a positive impact in the field of education.

 

Mayra Velasquez

Mayra is a highly collaborative, results-oriented National Project Manager with over 10 years expertise in operations, business strategy, and management improvement. With a MBA for Duke Fuqua School of Business, she has cross-functional project & operational experience across the Insurance, Professional Services, and Health Care sectors. She has a consistent track record of excellence building, developing and managing initiatives. She is also certified in The Manager’s Toolbox.

 

Lauren Stockmon Brown

Lauren is a current PhD Candidate at Columbia University in the Theatre and Performance English and Comparative Literature Department. She is a former scholarship recipient of The Fulbright Program in Senegal ‘20 where she continued research on identity formation for her podcast, "My Colorful Nana.” She is also passionate about storytelling and movement building for youth writing and advocacy.

Ana is a professional with 3+ years of international work experience in the U.S., U.K., East Jerusalem, and Serbia. As a native Italian and French speaker, with fluency in English and Spanish, she has consistently and passionately demonstrated expertise in cross-cultural communications and program implementation in areas related to social and climate justice, cultural diplomacy, and equitable educational practices.
